Alice O. Yu is the CEO and Principal Consultant at Salus Risk Management Consulting. She has over 25 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience in the high tech and bio-tech world. She has helped organizations, from start ups to multinationals, build healthier, safer, and more compliant workplaces. She delivers strategic and technical EH&S solutions — from compliance and risk assessment to training and program design — for clients navigating complex regulatory environments.
She started her journey while she was in the US Army Chemical Corps as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense trainer to enlisted officers. She has held many corporate positions including site safety lead, biosafety officer, ergonomist and industrial hygiene (IH) lead.
Alice holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and M.S. in Environmental and Occupation Health Sciences from Hunters College, City University of New York.
She currently serves on the American Society of Safety Professionals as a committee member and reviewer for the National ASSP Conference.

Amanda Shin is a Senior Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Consultant with over 20 years of experience supporting technology and biotechnology startups in highly regulated environments. She works with growing companies to build practical, scalable EH&S programs, training, and safety management systems that support compliance and long-term growth.
Amanda began her career at a biotech startup in North San Diego and later expanded her expertise in the Bay Area through consulting roles, work in loss control and R&D at The Clorox Company, and leadership roles within the battery and cannabis startup sectors. Her experience spans risk management, occupational health & safety, loss prevention, hazardous waste management & permitting, ergonomics, environmental permitting, and workers’ compensation.
She holds a B.A. in Environmental Analysis & Design from the University of California, Irvine, a M.S. in Occupational Health & Safety with a concentration in Environmental Management and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
She is passionate about volunteer leadership and has increasing roles through the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). She currently serves as Area Director 2 for Region I of ASSP which encompasses chapters throughout Oregon and Northern California.
